Alcarràs

Three generations of Catalonians live on their peach farm, unable to hold back the tides of time and change.

Rather than following a standard story structure, "Alcarràs" is a work of observation, made of scenes that follow a family in their everyday chores and interactions at harvest time. Change is creeping up on the farmers; even their children's play is impacted by the modern world and emergent climate priorities on agricultural trade, presented front and centre of the director’s camera. Following the family day-to-day allows audiences to engage with empathy even as their inherited lifestyle is in crisis. Peachy keen.
