Thunder Road

A police officer mourns his mother's death, struggles for custody of his daughter, and finds himself being angry all the time.

The lead in "Thunder Road" is a dorky and aggressively polite police officer for whom nothing is going right. His emotions and reactions are oversimplified as he not so much walks a line, but veers between sanity and losing it completely. There's a clumsiness to the storytelling that's amusing at first but starts to drag down the pace. The naive style of this movie will have you laughing or cringing, perhaps even both at once. Cracks of thunder.
