From the Vine

A CEO turns his back on his corporate life and returns to the small Italian village of his childhood to make wine on his grandfather's defunct estate.

"From the Vine" is a charming and simply told story with a straightforward, if predictable, plot. The production holds together thanks in no small part to the relatability of the lead actor. In comparison, other cast members appear awkwardly self-aware. The countryside setting is a pleasure to view, although somewhat mysteriously the vineyard appears to grow in acreage from scene to scene - perhaps intended to reflect the success of the protagonist's venture. An inoffensive quaffer.
