An imagined origin story depicting the romantic inspiration for Wuthering Heights.

The Yorkshire moors are faithfully depicted as desolate and oddly gothic expanses, drenched in rain. The many shifting moods of the characters are creatively captured, mostly without words, and the use of an occasional, sudden silence during the soundtrack is particularly potent. Everything about "Emily", the setting, the family, and the relationships between siblings is created so as to be credible. The cast could've stepped from history onto the screen wholly costumed with flawless moods and expressions; playing out their lives replete with devotion, ardour and intensity. Much wuthering, just read the book.
