White Riot

Documents the story of Rock Against Racism (RAR), a UK protest movement formed in 1976 to counteract the influence of the National Front, a coalition of right-wing political groups.

"White Riot" is about militant entertainment. Activism has never since had such an energetic soundtrack and this production bursts with punk intensity. We witness how political activism before social media could be filled with energy, power, and a perennial determination to address discrimination. Thanks to some terrific, albeit grainy, archival footage, we see thousands of pogoing teenagers dance to the beats of social justice, and it's hard to be still in your seat. London's calling.
