Uncorked

Elijah is torn between taking over his family's BBQ joint and chasing his dream of becoming a master sommelier.

"Uncorked" is more of an exploration into family connection and obligation than it is about wine. The storyline is a little superficial, only ever scraping the surface of the trouble truly brewing in this family dynamic, and it's a shame we never get to delve a little deeper. The performances are good, the relationship between father and son is particularly well rendered. But what truly lets this film down is the abrupt ending that leaves far too many plot threads blowing in the wind. Corked.
