Three Identical Strangers

Documentary

In New York in 1980, three young men find out about each other, identical triplets who were separated at birth.

This documentary is well put together; a fascinating situation is explored by talking heads with lots of grainy archival footage providing details. The director uses a device of setting up a scene and then revealing a little more of what happened, before backtracking a little to reinforce each 'surprise'. Even as the pace dawdles the audience is glued to the screen. All that can be said, without spoiling things for future viewers, is that this is a truly astonishing tale. Oh, brothers.
