The Queen of Ireland

A documentary about Rory O'Neill, an Irish man best known as the drag queen Panti Bliss, covers his life up until the referendum on marriage equality.

The protagonist describes his alter ego as a giant cartoon woman. It's true she is larger than life, more glamorous and more outspoken than the man who creates her. As a convincing and disarming communicator, she was a powerful advocate for marriage equality through a divisive public debate. It will be all but impossible to watch "The Queen of Ireland" and not be moved, sadly those most interested will already believe in social equality. Queen of Hearts.
