The New Mutants

Five young mutants just discovering their powers have to find their way out of the facility that is holding them.

"The New Mutants" doesn't know what it wants to be. This production throws a little bit of everything into the mix; origin stories, horror, romance, coming-of-age... with none of these aspects particularly well-executed. The characters are shallow and mostly unlikeable, making it hard for the audience to become invested in seeing them triumph, and there are plenty of loose story threads to leave us scratching our heads. Unfortunately, this is a rather generic and bland offering that doesn't leave a mark. Failed mutation.
