The Mule

Crime Drama

A Korean war veteran and octogenarian becomes a drug mule, driving extraordinary amounts of cocaine across America for a Mexican drug cartel.

The synopsis is misleading as this eyebrow-raising, based-on-a-true-story effort comes to the screen with an underdeveloped script. The relentlessly repeated message that family is the most important thing in life is no consolation for the missing action. It's boring and gets even worse when nationality is used to crudely delineate between the goodies and baddies; there are two camps - the Americans and the bad hombres - a simple depiction of racism in today's America. More rootin', tootin' and shootin', please.
