The King

Biography History Drama

A re-imagining of Shakespeare's Henriad, focusing on a young Henry V.

"The King" is a slow-moving, and yet captivating film. The cinematography in this production is excellent, with each shot carrying weight and helping to bring the medieval period to life. Our leading man is outstanding in his performance, and he's supported by a cast who play their roles admirably. Unfortunately, the main villain is terribly miscast and his comically bad delivery is a mark against this otherwise brilliant offering. Uneasy lies the head that wears a crown.
