The Innocent

When Sylvie marries Michel while he's in a Rhone prison, her son Abel doesn't believe things will work out for them and underestimates the criminal capers to come.

The plot is the feature of "The Innocent" because it's both capricious and unpredictable, an entertaining combination. The movie could best be described as a romantic comedy wrapped in a crime drama. We learn from the lessons in relationships... who to love, who to trust, and who is really looking out for you. It's also fair to mention that the plot is nonsensical, held together thanks to a stellar cast, each of whom delivers a superb performance. In less talented hands, the action may have tipped from absurd to laughable. Guilty as charged.
