The Hustle

An accomplished con artist helps a less experienced Australian backpacker learn the ropes of hustling.

There's a moment at about the half-way mark of this film that the audience will realise they've been scammed. There are no redeeming qualities to this remake, "The Hustle" simply isn't funny. Our protagonists try their best to eek out every little gag they can from the setup, but it soon feels as if they too must have realised it was a futile endeavour. The scams themselves are almost as terrible as the attempts at comedy, plainly absurd and orchestrated poorly, targeting caricatured characters who are just as fake. A true crime.
