The Darkest Minds

After an unknown virus wipes out the majority of teenagers worldwide, the survivors develop powers and are imprisoned for the safety of the world.

"The Darkest Minds" is a surprising and refreshing adventure. Set in a dystopian future that is just a hop, skip and jump away from the world we live in, it manages to breathe new life into the crowded book-to-movie genre. The merry band of escapees are an enjoyable bunch to watch, but unfortunately, the character development of our villain(s) leaves much to be desired. The finale feels a little rushed and anticlimactic but overall the drama, action and romance in this film are balanced well enough to keep you entertained and wanting more. Mind games.
