The Coming Back Out Ball Movie

In the lead up to Australia's marriage equality vote, a gala event to honour and celebrate LGBTI+ elders was held in Melbourne's town hall.

"The Coming Back Out Ball Movie" is described as an observational feature documentary. Several people are interviewed as they prepare to attend the gala, and as you might guess their life experiences are diverse. This is a celebration though and the focus is on coming through more than coming out... and surviving. The sense of defiance and rebellion against the ubiquity of being mainstream is contagious; you may want to stand up and dance in the cinema. Love is love.
