Tanna

A story of forbidden love and tribal warfare, set on the island of Tanna in Vanuatu and spoken in a local language.

The plot is an oft-told one of star-crossed lovers and in this version "Tanna" retells real events that happened on the island in the late 1980s. From the opening scenes of routine village life this is a movie that envelops the viewer and draws you into the story, it's magnetic. The cinematography is luminous and the soundtrack haunting. The elements are perfect, including the performances from a cast who have not acted before. It's got the power of love.
