Swan Song

An homage to Pat Pitsenbarger from Sandusky Ohio, a hairdresser who opened the first gay bar in town and supported the local queer community.

"Swan Song" is steeped in fact and enhanced with imaginings, and the result is a delight to experience, both sentimental and touching. Following a man who walks out of his nursing home and wanders through his past on the way to the funeral home proves an effective narrative device. The actor who plays the central character perfectly embodies the lead role with haughty panache while directing our attention to the commonplace invisibility of people outside of the mainstream. We'll have a gay old time.
