Soul

A struggling jazz musician finds himself stuck between Earth and the afterlife.

"Soul" is a middle-of-the-road production. Our lead character is self-centered and hard to like, and the supporting cast outshines him at almost every turn. The moral of the story seems to be 'never take things for granted', but this is a lesson our protagonist never quite takes to heart. There are some fun fish-out-of-water sequences that liven up the long run time but unfortunately, this isn't a film that will spark joy. Soulless.
