Second Act

A woman who works in a supermarket gets the chance of a lifetime when she is offered a Madison Avenue executive role.

As the film opens, the lead character has just finished her morning run and is under the shower. Her makeup is perfect; all that's missing is a narrator's voice saying "once upon a time...". That's the sort of fantasy offering that "Second Act" is. Those of us who enjoy escapism can rejoice, there isn't a credibly realistic scene throughout. To complete the confection there is a cloyingly happy, happily-ever-after ending. Be grateful there's no encore.
