Biography Drama War

Follows Marcel Marceau's time in the French resistance and how they helped to smuggle thousands of Jewish orphans to safety during World War II.

"Resistance" is a flawed yet honourable retelling of the famous French mime's little-known wartime heroics. Unfortunately, the film is let down by an undeveloped character arc and an uninspiring performance from its lead. The decision to cast a middle-aged actor to play a teenage Marcel is as questionable as his French accent. Despite the historical inaccuracies and unrealised potential, there are still enough moments of affecting sentiment to entertain casual viewers and more importantly, pay sincere tribute to its real-life protagonist. Spend some time with the mime.
