Red, White and Brass

In 2011, a church group tricked their way into seeing the World Cup rugby match between Tonga and France, in Wellington, by forming a brass band to provide field entertainment.

"Red, White & Brass" is based on a true albeit unlikely tale that showcases a feel-good underdog story. The narrative is a bold one, and while the outcome might be known, it doesn't spoil the viewing enjoyment. The production is unpretentious and warm-hearted; so as much as you may want to turn away from the predictable premise, it's impossible to feel any disdain for the merry band of musicians and their happy-go-lucky approach to life.
