Pacific Rim: Uprising

Ten years after the Battle of the Breach, the Pan-Pacific Defense Corps are on high-alert after the emergence of rogue Jaegers roaming the planet.

Clearly there's a market for large robots fighting even larger monsters, and "Pacific Rim: Uprising" unashamedly panders to its target audience. In a world abundant with holographic visors, this film sticks to its modus operandi of delivering frivolous entertainment in the form of thunderous action and large-scale destruction. Thankfully the often mechanical story is at least equipped with some heart; the pilots revealing just enough backstory to distinguish them from their inanimate counterparts.
