On the Basis of Sex

The biography of Ruth Bader Ginsburg, from her entry into Harvard Law School to her first anti-discrimination case Moritz v. Commissioner in 1972.

Today the protagonist is an 85-year-old Associate Justice of the Supreme Court of the United States. The filmmakers wisely hone in on her early days and one significant discrimination case. The story is compelling, the acting solid, and the production values are tight except that the soundtrack was intrusive at times. Most satisfying is how traditional gender roles are challenged. "The Basis of Sex" is an origin story, and we can only hope for further episodes. May it please the court.
