There's something bold and disarming about the subject of this documentary. It's gratifying to see the doctor who wrote his own texts on the workings and mysteries of the brain, whose foremost interest was the person rather than their condition. You cannot help but feel admiration for the pioneer who reveals his decades of therapy with the same analyst and, at the same time, awe for all that he achieved and the hurdles he overcame. No mistaking this man for anything but brilliant.
