Moon Bound

A girl and her brother have an adventure to the moon in an animated fantasy based on the famous 1912 German children's storybook.

The best films for children contain multigenerational elements, something "Moonbound" doesn't quite achieve. It's a fun but strictly 'kids only' offering without much appeal for adults. The original story has been tinkered with for modern expectations, including mention of a vegan diet and use of the phrase 'Oh my God'. The only black character wears a tribal jungle costume, and the evil sidekicks are stereotypically stupid, demonstrating that even a children's fantasy world could benefit from lessons in diversity. Almost a moon landing.
