Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children

After the suspicious death of his grandfather, Jacob seeks out the home of Miss Peregrine, where he soon discovers he has a special ancestral gift.

The most peculiar thing about "Miss Peregrine's School for Peculiar Children" is how such a fantastical tale could also be so dull. There's a nagging feeling you've seen it all before in this imperfect attempt to combine the supernatural with a ragtag group of children. While the level of performances from the ensemble cast are disheartening, the strong and colourful visuals are undeniably the most wonderful part of the film. It oddly fits the dark and sinister story, and preserves the playfulness of the kids and their special powers. For imaginative children only.
