Miss

Comedy LGBTQIA+

A young man enters a beauty pageant wanting to fulfill his childhood dream of becoming Miss France.

Surprise! While beauty pageants are all but obsolete, we're not altogether done with them, at least not when there's some socio-political mileage to be had by spotlighting the flaws of the once-loved format. The premise of "Miss" is a thought-provoking fable, prompting consideration of authenticity and identity as more than gender, and greater than follower numbers. The production could have been more pointed around those points, however in opting for a softer approach, it eventually runs low on material and stretches with scenes of photo-shoots. Pardon me, Miss.
