MQFF: Man Made

Four men tell their stories of transition, as they prepare for a transgender bodybuilding competition.

A sensitive and intimate examination into the lives for four trans men, centred around their passion for bodybuilding; a sport rooted in archaic and toxic views of masculinity. Whilst the musclebuilding competition does add interesting layers, "Man Made" is at its most powerful when it reveals its subjects in their most candid and rawest of forms - away from competing. It's a profound and humanising documentary that manages to challenge stereotypes and offers a small glimpse into the transgender experience. Made powerful
