The type of nostalgia portrayed in "Licorice Pizza" can leave you longing for days gone by, especially if life could be accompanied by the songs of this soundtrack. The era is meticulously recreated with faultless costume and set detail, the cars too. The make-up of the characters is less compelling. What's at stake for them emotionally, in relation to each other, is not established and without a gravitational pull into their world, it's hard to really care. A slice of fun.
