La Belle Époque

A man who has just split with his wife is given the chance to go back to a point in time, and he selects 1974.

"La Belle Époque" reminds us of how loves and lives change over time and how we might forget more than we remember. This is a clever and well-constructed exploration of romantic memories. The idea of returning to another time is central to the story and given credibility by accomplished, no-frills filmmaking. An eye to detail is key. This is a funny movie too, gently mocking, a little absurd, and highly entertaining. The good times and the better times.
