Indignation
Drama
The son of a Jewish butcher leaves home to go to college in Chicago and avoids being drafted into the army to fight in the Korean War.
You're in for a rare treat when a movie based on a book is as good as the book. The 1950s and college campus life are faithfully recreated and the humanistic themes compelling; sexual awakening, marital hatred, religious observance, and the fine line between sensitivity and being regarded as crazy. There's a sense that anything could happen, and it's that air of unpredictability that makes this movie so absorbing. Sparks of indignation.
