MIFF: I Am Not Your Negro

An examination of race relations in America using the words of the writer and social critic, James Baldwin.

"I Am Not Your Negro" is a provocative documentary, an intense portrait of the author and his ideals. The connections made between the past and present are eye-opening. The depictions of racial stereotypes drawn from archival cinema footage are equal parts familiar and horrifying, bringing messages of inequality home with a wallop. The observations of the social commentator are intelligently made and so incisive that they resound with as much relevance today as when originally recorded. Enough is enough.
