When two brothers botch a bank robbery, one ends up in Rikers Island jail while the other tries to free him.

"Good Time" delivers more than the title promises, giving audiences a prolonged and exhilarating adrenaline rush. This is agile film-making, balancing criminal bravado with a sense of panicked vulnerability. The night-time city is one of the stars, as dark as ever but featuring bold neon highlights, more haunting than witnessed before. The music score pulses with synth-rhythms that hold the tension of the hyperactive scenes. A helluva rocking rollercoaster.
