Dolittle

Dr Doolittle must save the Queen to retain Doolittle Mansion, the home to a menagerie of animals with whom he can talk.

"Dolittle" is action-based with a frenetic pace, there are many adversaries, and one or more of the characters are in peril at any given time. Therein lies a problem as there's a squad of overexcitable creatures and every scene is played out as some sort of do or die effort. The movie suffers from a surfeit of stakes and in the end, it's hard to invest much into the various hazards and conquests. All talk and too much action.
