Dog

Two war veterans (one of them a dog) from an elite army corps share a three-day drive down the Pacific West Coast to attend the funeral of a fellow soldier.

"Dog" is a patchy road trip buddy movie with a stars and stripes heart and a lot of screen filled with scenic vistas. The characters find themselves in unexpected situations, and the long road allows for some growth, the extent of which is overplayed. The production has an obviously masculine eye, and the dated soundtrack songs don't really hold up their end. Redeemed by the bad dog who's a good girl.
