An undercover agent infiltrates an opioid smuggling operation while an architect tries to avenge her son's drug death and a university researcher battles with a pharmaceutical company.

The opening frames of "Crisis" reveal that the movie is inspired by true events and in the closing minutes, statistics about deaths due to opioid addiction are revealed. The horrifying numbers seem to constitute the inspirational events. Three intersecting stories are superficially recognisable as plausibly true but unlikely narratives. An advantage of the characters being drawn as stereotypes is that the camps of goodies and baddies can't be confused, and let's not mention plot holes. Brain pain.
