IFF: Castle of Dreams

Set in Iran, a man struggles with his responsibilities towards his children after his wife dies during an operation.

"Castle of Dreams" is a bit of a road movie, and although the father and his brood don't drive very far, much of this film is shot from within a car. Patience is required as the story elements to fall into place on the journey and the relationship of the characters is understood. Ultimately it's worth the wait and we're party to some intense family dynamics viewed through children's eyes. This is intelligent and sensitive storytelling delivered with simplicity. Life could be a dream.
