Broker

A mother leaves her newborn at an orphanage door unaware she's being watched by police and that abandoned babies are being sold to childless couples.

The colour tones of "The Broker" are overcast. Grey, and misty, like shades of sorrow. Scene by poignant scene the plot casts a gloom over wishes for a happy ending. The filmmaker doesn't aim to disenchant, the back stories of the characters are deeply human but grounded in disadvantage. This is not a story of heroes or villains, it's complex and not easily described. Audiences can sit back and allow themselves to be wrapped in gentle dreams of hope, all the while observing the director's deft touch while creating new images of family. Deal or no deal?
