Black Widow

Natasha Romanoff, also known as 'Black Widow', tries to take down the people who stole her childhood from her.

"Black Widow" is a film filled with stellar performances but let down by a mediocre script. Diving back into this familiar world is welcome, but the story seems to assume too much prior knowledge, as a lot of the backstory is left unexplained. The cast has great chemistry and there are moments of levity where the movie pokes fun at itself and the genre's tropes; unfortunately, they're overshadowed by ridiculous action sequences that defy physics in hilarious ways. The abundance of booty shots is unnecessary and while entertaining overall, it doesn't quite stick the landing (or hair flip). Family.
