If you have unanswered questions at the end of this movie it's because sometimes there are no rational answers to why and what we do. What "Beautiful Boy" does do is to closely observe a relationship amidst the stresses of addiction, and the impact on the parties is harrowing to watch. This is powerful stuff, and that's not a reference to the white powder in little plastic bags, but more about the truthful performances, and a soundtrack that's mostly unobtrusive. The real deal.
