MIFF: Anne at 13,000 ft

On the ground, Anne works at a Toronto daycare centre which provides challenges to her uneven emotional state - but in the air, she soars when skydiving.

In a world where a certain type of normalcy is overvalued, "Anne at 13,000 Feet" sails through the stratosphere with bold storytelling. The movie follows emotional states rather than a plot and uses cinematic naturalism for effect without sound editing. This is a study of a precarious character, socially awkward and curiously engaging. We're not privy to the protagonistís point of view and can only watch with an uneasy sense of vertigo. In the sky with diamonds.
