Over two days in 1972, Aretha Franklin sang with a choir at the New Bethel Baptist Church in LA. The soundtrack became the greatest ever selling Gospel album.
Watching "Amazing Grace" is an uplifting experience, and the worship and spirituality filling the small church is contagious. We're blessed to be able to experience the performance on the screen and constrained in our cinema seats, unable to dance or holler in praise. Fortunately, the church audience is not held back. As an aside, it's interesting to note how sound and film production equipment has changed in the years since the performance. How sweet the sound.
