Aladdin

When a street urchin frees a genie from a magic lamp, he receives three wishes.

Although it doesn't reach the dazzling heights of the iconic animation, "Aladdin" still manages to be a soaring good time. Rich in colour, spectacle and nostalgia, the film updates aspects of its story for the modern audience, but doesn't try to fix what's not broken. While some of the musical numbers dont have the same flair and pizazz that we remember, the end result is still a sweet, surprisingly funny and respectful adaptation of a cinematic classic. Shining, shimmering, splendid.
