Wine Country

A group of girlfriends celebrate a 50th birthday in Napa.

For a comedy, "Wine Country" takes itself way too seriously. The first half of the film is quite the slog; bogged down with unnecessary drama and quip after quip that never seems to land where they should. Things pick up during the final act of the film, but it's likely you'll have lost interest by the time this comes around. There are a few high points in the soundtrack but it doesn't come together cohesively and while the cast work well together, the script never allows them to show their full potential. Cheers.
