The Square

Comedy Drama

An art gallery curator has his wallet and mobile phone stolen, only for his attempt at payback to result in calamitous consequences.

"The Square" is a satirical drama that derides the ethos and societies surrounding modern art galleries. Poking fun at bourgeois hypocrisies may be an easy mark, but it still beguiles with a caustic wit that is both introspective and laugh-out-loud hilarious. The director deftly questions current themes of honesty, trust and community; and though it meanders during a prolonged final act, remains an entertaining if not interesting exhibition. Hip to be square.
