The Plastic House

Documentary Drama Experimental

A young woman works in her family's greenhouse.

"The Plastic House" is about as interesting as watching paint dry. For the first third of the film there aren't any spoken words, just swathes of greenery and the flickering of plastic sheeting in the wind. Archival footage is interspersed with long, meaningless shots of shovels, trowels and irrigation that really seem to serve no purpose. This is a sparse and banal production that plays as a passion project for the filmmaker, which unfortunately doesn't translate to an enjoyable watching experience. Green with boredom.
