The Hating Game

Lucy and Josh are mortal enemies, or are they?

"The Hating Game" is a perfectly pleasant production that lacks any significant substance to make it stand out in a crowded genre. The story takes liberties with its source material, for seemingly no conceivable reason except to create additional drama. Our leading lady tries valiantly to hold this entire film on her shoulders, but she may as well have been interacting with a potted plant for all the chemistry she shares with our leading man. Key scenes are irritatingly destroyed by terrible lighting and overall this misses the mark by a wide margin. Shortcake.
