Lydia Tár, the first woman to conduct the Berlin Philharmonic, is preparing to record the final in a series of Mahler symphonies.

"Tár" is a symphonic dive into the realm of classical music; a forensic psychological study of a complicated and lauded celebrity who can feign humility. The most compelling reason to watch this performance is the brilliance of the lead actor who embodies a relentless and obsessive maestro.
