A reformed neo-Nazi attempts to distance himself from his hateful family.

Inspired by a true story, "Skin" shares the remarkable story of an awful bunch of people with terrible tattoos. Understanding the psyche and prevailing violence of the supremacist gang is a difficult task, but the film does an admirable job of demonstrating a basic human need to belong. Surprisingly for our protagonist, the catalyst for change is not born from a tremendous moment. It's a gradual and compelling transformation that only falters ever so slightly amidst the perpetual stream of melodrama towards the end. Scarred.
