Follows Napoleon's quest for power, his fierce determination for the military expansion of France's domain and his devotion to Josephine.

As one might expect, "Napoleon" is a grand-scale battle saga. The director and writer hone their focus on the dictator's love of country and army. Highlighting the brilliance of his military mind, war scenes are meticulously executed, compelling, and bloody. Almost superficially covered is the love for his empress, although the actor in that role is a scene-stealer. More about the emperor's motivations would also have been welcomed but the reasons for his ruthless intentions remain as opaque as any undemocratic ruler. Inevitably faces his Waterloo.
